This is a confusing time for most people and because a Memorial is an item that most people purchase only once in their lives most people know very little about the product. Memorials come in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, colours and finishes. Most Memorials are made from Granite. Not all granite is the same as far as durability is concerned. The granite should not fade or discolour over time.

Granite
The following are various types of granite available for monument or marker construction. Unequaled purity of color, and a flawless, even grain make Rock of Ages the most superior granite in the world. Types
| FLAT GRASS MARKERS Usually set flush with the ground, concrete foundations are not required.

| BEVEL MARKERS Usually 6" thick at the top end tapering to 3" thick at the bottom end. Sometimes these require a foundation depending on the rules of the particular cemetery.

| SLANT MEMORIALS These are thicker at the bottom and taper to the top. Not allowed in all cemeteries.
|
| UPRIGHT MEMORIALS Usually 6" or 8" thick always placed on base stone which is then placed on a concrete foundation that is usually 4 to 5 feet deep. Comes in many shapes both standard and custom.

| FAMILY MEMORIALS When the rules in your particular cemetery allow, these memorials can be whatever size and shape that meets your needs. Typically there would be room for many names and specific information for each person.

| FLAT BRONZE MARKERS Mandatory in certain cemeteries. Some may include a flower vase. Wide assortment of designs available. |
